SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Trade Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in the Gerber Marketing group by planning, preparing and executing brand initiatives throughout EMEA and APAC. As a key lever in the marketing arm of the Gerber brand, your deep insights to EMEA and APAC markets will steer the creation of product, brand, and retail tactics that capture attention, inspire and drive consumers to action.

Working under the Director, Outdoor Business EMEA & APAC you will oversee all functional marketing activities that relate to Gerber's EMEA and APAC business initiatives. You will dual report to the Director of Marketing Communications (US based) as part of the Matrix organization, to ensure development and execution of tactics are aligned with global Marcom's strategy. 

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Point of Purchase programs and retail assets that are relevant to key EMEA & APAC markets.
  • Develop and distribute marketing collateral and assets that support sell in and sell through of products.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute key trade shows and other events.
  • Help guide and manage the EMEA & APAC digital web strategy, including individual country domains, CRM/email marketing and social media.
  • Lead Public Relations and editorial activities.
  • Coordinate training programs for internal and external sales partners.
  • Ensure the effective presentation and promotion of the product line though all touch points.
  • Manage marketing budget, product assortments, price lists and merchandise inventory.
  • Maintain and promote professional relationships with key account merchandising teams.
  • Provide market information to marketing and product development teams.
  • Advise on and assist in the development of EMEA & APAC packaging executions.
  • Create and launch ecommerce and social media platform programs.
  • You will successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally between Marketing, Sales, Operations and Product Management to ensure the brand is presented effectively and at highest possible standard in all physical applications in EMEA and APAC.
  • Additionally, you will be the subject matter expert on the Gerber product range.  A familiarity and passion for activities that involve Gerber products is essential and you should be very comfortable handling knives and tools.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Works closely with Gerber functional marketers and graphic designers to develop and deploy brand and product marketing materials.
  • Works closely with Fiskars Functional business area, regional sales clusters, and country sales unit marketers and sales teams, including dedicated Gerber regional sales managers to ensure development and execution of tactics are aligned with global Marcom's strategy.
  • Advise on and participate in go-to market strategy development and execution for new products.
  • Lead, manage and assess EMEA agencies.
  • Maintains awareness of the Company's competitive position and the changing EMEA and APAC business environment.
  • Acts as an ambassador for the Gerber brand and company.
  • Travel extensively within Europe and USA. At least 20 days in Portland, Oregon, USA Outdoor BA Head Office.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a completed Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, International Business or related field
  • 4-7 years of relevant marketing experience (trade marketing, ecommerce, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of EMEA business experience with an emphasis in Germany and France
  • Must have consumer goods industry experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in retail marketing and/or trade show execution
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Highly engaged in the outdoors and Gerber's core users; Campers, Hikers, Hunters, Soldiers and Industrial Pros
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience specific to ecommerce, social media, and email marketing

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed Master's Degree preferred
  • Well composed, with an unwavering positive attitude
  • Robust attention to detail and a relentless desire for perfection
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to adapt socially to varying cultures
  • Multi-lingual in Spanish, German, and/or French (non-essential)
